Walther car mount guide: magnetic, model-specific mounts for the Walther PDP, PPQ, PPS, CCP and P99. Confirm your model, pick optic-ready, mount it right.

Walther Car Mount Guide: PDP, PPQ, PPS, CCP and P99

Walther owners tend to be particular. The PDP’s trigger, the PPQ’s grip and the slim PPS all have their fans, and a good number of them ride in a truck console every day. A Walther car mount has to be just as particular, because those five pistols have five different slides.

This guide covers the Walther models At The Ready builds mounts for, how the mount holds the pistol, the optic-ready choice, where the mount goes in a car or truck, and how to put it in without drilling.

Key takeaways

  • At The Ready makes a separate magnetic mount for the Walther PDP, PPQ, PPS, CCP and P99.
  • Confirm the model marked on your pistol before ordering; similar-looking Walthers use different mounts.
  • Each Walther mount is $95 standard or $105 optic-ready.
  • The console side and the lower dash are the usual spots, away from airbags and pedals.
  • Screws, VHB tape and primer are included, and every mount carries a lifetime warranty.

Five Walther Models, Five Mounts

Walther’s current and recent lineup is on Walther Arms’ website. At The Ready designs each mount from one model’s actual slide, so each pistol below gets its own:

Your pistol At The Ready mount Standard Optic-ready
Walther PDP PDP mount $95 $105
Walther PPQ PPQ mount $95 $105
Walther PPS PPS mount $95 $105
Walther CCP CCP mount $95 $105
Walther P99 P99 mount $95 $105

The PDP and PPQ look alike from the driver’s seat but have different slides, so they do not share a mount. Check the model marked on your pistol, and if you carry a Walther that is not listed, call At The Ready at (469) 304-8535 to ask about options. The full Walther mount lineup is on one page.

How the Mount Holds a Walther

Every At The Ready mount pairs rare-earth magnets with a premium ABS body shaped from that specific slide. The pistol settles into the same spot every time, grip out, so your hand lands where it expects to. There is no holster between you and the pistol. The trigger guard stays open, which means the same rule as always: finger off the trigger until you have decided to shoot.

If your Walther wears a light or another accessory, contact At The Ready before you order to ask about clearance.

Optic-Ready for the PDP Crowd

The PDP in particular ships ready for a red dot, and many owners add one. If your pistol has an optic now, or you plan to add one, choose “Optic: Yes” on the model page for the optic-ready version at $10 more. That selection does not by itself confirm clearance for lights or other accessories, so ask if your setup is unusual. The optic-ready gun mount guide walks through the choice.

Where to Put a Walther Car Mount

Most drivers pick one of two spots: the side of the center console or the lower dash panel. Both keep the grip within reach without leaning. Before you commit, hold your empty pistol in place from your normal seat and take a full grip. Keep the mount away from the knee airbag zone, the pedals and any trim that flexes.

The car gun mount guide and the under-dash gun mount guide go deeper on each spot. If the grip ends up against your knee, the angled mount adapter ($14.99) tilts it away.

Installing Without Drilling

Screws, VHB tape and primer come with every mount. In a vehicle, use the screws, or use the tape with the primer applied first. Tape on its own is not enough on textured automotive plastic. Our no-drill gun mount guide covers the tape method step by step, and the installation page has a short video.

Colors and Custom Text

Black is the standard base color, with 25 colors to choose from at no extra cost. You can also add up to 18 characters of custom text, a name, a unit or a call sign. Every mount is made in Wylie, Texas, by a veteran-owned company and is covered by a lifetime warranty.

Safety and the Law

A magnetic mount is quick access, not locked storage. Take the pistol with you or lock it up when you leave the vehicle. Practice the draw with an unloaded pistol until it is smooth, and know the carry laws for every state you drive through.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do the PDP and PPQ use the same mount?

No. Each has its own mount built from its own slide. Order by the model marked on your pistol.

Is there a mount for the Walther PPK/S or PK380?

Not on the site today. Call At The Ready at (469) 304-8535 to ask about current options.

What does a Walther car mount cost?

$95 for the standard mount or $105 for the optic-ready version, colors and custom text included.

Can I move it between vehicles?

With the screw install, yes, by removing the screws. The angled adapter and a second set of screws make a second vehicle easy.
