SIG P365 Car Mount Guide: P365, XL, X-Macro, FUSE and Norso

P365 car mount guide: the SIG P365, P365XL, X-Macro, FUSE and Norso each have their own magnetic mount. Pick yours, choose optic-ready, install it right.

The SIG P365 family is one of the most popular choices for everyday carry, and it is one of the most searched pistols for a car or truck mount. There is a catch, though: “P365” now covers several different pistols. A P365 car mount made for one version is not the mount for another, so the first step is knowing exactly which P365 you carry.

This guide walks through the five P365 versions At The Ready makes mounts for: the P365, P365XL, P365 X-Macro, P365 FUSE and P365 Norso. It covers how to tell which one you have, whether to pick the optic-ready version, where to put the mount in your vehicle and how to install it.

Key takeaways

  • At The Ready makes a separate magnetic mount for each P365 version: P365, P365XL, P365 X-Macro, P365 FUSE and P365 Norso.
  • Check the model name marked on your pistol before you order. Similar names use separate mounts.
  • Every P365 mount is $95, or $105 for the optic-ready version if you run a red dot.
  • Common spots are the side of the center console and the lower dash, clear of airbags and pedals.
  • Screws, VHB tape and primer come in the box, with a lifetime warranty on the mount.

Five P365 Versions, Five Separate Mounts

SIG builds the P365 in several versions with different frames, slides and grips. You can see the whole series on SIG SAUER’s P365 page. Because each At The Ready mount is designed from the actual slide of one specific pistol, each version gets its own mount:

Your pistol At The Ready mount Standard Optic-ready
SIG P365 P365 mount $95 $105
SIG P365XL P365XL mount $95 $105
SIG P365 X-Macro P365 X-Macro mount $95 $105
SIG P365 FUSE P365 FUSE mount $95 $105
SIG P365 Norso P365 Norso mount $95 $105

Not sure which one you have? Look at the model name marked on the pistol, and if you are still unsure, call At The Ready at (469) 833-6651 before you order. You can also browse every SIG SAUER mount in one place.

How a P365 Car Mount Holds Your Pistol

At The Ready mounts hold the pistol with rare-earth magnets in a premium ABS body shaped from that model’s slide. The result is a P365 car mount that keeps the pistol in the same position on every drive, so your hand finds the grip the same way every time. The mount holds the pistol itself, not a holster, and the trigger guard stays open, so keep your finger off the trigger until you are ready to fire.

If your P365 carries a light or another accessory, contact At The Ready to check clearance before ordering.

Optic-Ready or Standard?

Many P365 owners run a red dot sight. If yours does, choose “Optic: Yes” on your model’s page for the optic-ready version, which is $10 more than the standard mount. If you plan to add an optic later, it is worth ordering the optic-ready version now.

An optic-ready selection does not by itself confirm clearance for lights or other accessories, so ask if you are unsure about your setup. Ready-made optic-ready mounts for some popular models are also on the clearance page while supplies last.

Where to Put Your P365 Car Mount

The most common spots are:

  • The side of the center console, within easy reach from the driver’s seat.
  • The lower dash panel, clear of the knee airbag area and the pedals.
  • A flat side panel you can reach from your normal seat.

Before you install anything, seat your empty P365 in the mount and hold it in place from your normal driving position. Make sure you can take a full grip without leaning, and check your owner’s manual for airbag zones. If your knee touches the grip, the angled mount adapter ($14.99) angles the mount away from your leg. For more placement detail, see our truck gun mount placement guide and the under-dash gun mount guide.

Installing It

Every mount comes with mounting screws, VHB tape and primer. In a vehicle, use the screws, or use the tape together with the included primer rather than the tape alone. If you would rather not drill, our no drill gun mount guide walks through a tape install step by step, and the installation page has a two-minute video.

Make It Yours

Each P365 car mount can be customized with 25 base, tab and text colors and up to 18 characters of custom text at no extra cost. Black is the standard base color if you would rather not customize. Mounts are made in Wylie, Texas, by a veteran-owned company, and carry a lifetime warranty.

Safety and the Law

Practice with an unloaded pistol until reaching for the grip is automatic. A mount is not locked storage, so take your P365 with you or lock it up when you leave the vehicle. Laws on carrying a handgun in a vehicle vary by state and city, so check them everywhere you drive.
