Under-Dash Gun Mounts

An under-dash gun mount holds your pistol on a lower dash panel, in the same position on every drive, within reach of the driver's seat. At The Ready makes each under-dash pistol mount for one pistol model, from $95, so you start by choosing your pistol from the list of manufacturers and models.

Where under the dash can you mount a pistol?

The under-dash spots shown in At The Ready customers' vehicles are the lower dash panel and the side panel next to the dash controls. If neither works in your vehicle, the side of the center console is the usual alternative.

The right spot is one you can reach from your normal driving position that stays clear of airbags, pedals and controls. Some vehicles have knee airbags in the lower dash, and your owner's manual shows where they are.

What should you check before installing a mount under the dash?

Check knee room, airbags and controls, reach, room to get in and out, and the mounting surface before you install.

How is an under-dash pistol mount different from an under-dash holster mount?

An under-dash holster mount holds a holster, while an At The Ready mount holds the pistol itself and is designed from the actual slide of your pistol model. Many holsters cover the trigger as a safety feature; an At The Ready mount leaves the trigger guard open, so you take your full shooting grip as you draw.

It also differs from a universal gun magnet stuck under the dash:

FAQ

Is under the dash a good place for a gun mount?

It is a good place if you can reach the grip from your normal driving position and the mount stays clear of airbags, pedals and controls. If it doesn't pass those checks in your vehicle, try the side of the center console instead.

Will an under-dash mount hit my knee?

It can, depending on your vehicle and seat position. If your knee touches the grip, the angled mount adapter ($14.99) angles the mount away from your leg and comes in right- and left-handed versions.

What is an under-dash gun holster mount?

It is a holster fixed under the dash that your pistol sits in. An At The Ready mount holds the pistol itself, made for your exact model, and leaves the trigger guard open, so keep your finger off the trigger until you are ready to shoot.

Do I have to drill to mount a pistol under the dash?

Not necessarily. The included mounting screws, VHB tape and primer let you choose the method that suits your panel, and installation instructions come in the box.

Does an under-dash pistol mount work with a red dot or a light?

Yes for a red dot: choose Optic: Yes on your model's page for $10 more. The optic option does not by itself confirm clearance for a weapon light or other accessory, so ask At The Ready before ordering.

How much does an under-dash pistol mount cost?

At The Ready pistol mounts start at $95, and the optic-compatible version is $105. The optional angled mount adapter is $14.99.
