Texas – Article 46.02 (a)(1)

  1. Does it fit any weapon?

Answer:

No, these are weapon specific for your safety. Each mount is designed, and all measurements are taken from that specific slide, down to 100th of a millimeter. Each ejection port is clear to avoid your weapon jamming. You can keep your weapon in a totally neutral or offensive position and charge your weapon if the situation to protect yourself arises.

  1. How does it attach to your car, desk, bedside table etc….?

Answer:

Each mount has 3m tape on the back and four self-tappers are in every box. It is recommended that if inside your home or business where there is air conditioning the 3m tape should be sufficient. If being mounted in your vehicle, atv or shop where heat is a factor, you always need to use the self-tapper screws. A philips head screw-driver is all you need to install on your own.

  1. Is there an alternative to using the screws?

Answer:

Yes, If you do not choose to use the four self-tappers that are provided in each box you can order the 3m primer as an alternative. Once you have the primer, the process of using the 3m primer is as follows: Find the location of where you are placing your mount. Remove your weapon and peel the red film or backing off of the two-sided tape. Crack the glass sleeve on the primer and apply directly to the black tape. Covering as much as possible. Hold the mount in place for at least 30-40 seconds then do not place your weapon in the mount for approximately 24 hrs. This activates the 3m and needs time to solidify.

  1. Where is the best place to mount in car/truck?

Answer:

It is recommended when mounting in your vehicle that you place your weapon in the mount, sit in a comfortable driving position and locate where it best suits you. Places where we have seen them mounted are pictured in the photo section.

  1. What happens when I sell my car?

Answer:

We carry a lifetime warranty on our mounts so we recommend that you remove and mount in your new vehicle. To do this, if you have screwed it in you will need a philips head screw-driver to remove each of the four screws then gently wiggle back and forth to remove off dashboard. In most cases the majority of the tape will remain on the mount and you are able to screw directly onto your new location. Simply use a soft towel or your palm to roll off any remaining residue off of old dash. If desired rubbing alcohol or mineral spirits will leave the dash clean.

If you have used the 3m primer, you will need mineral spirits in a spray bottle and a rag. The mineral spirits will slowly eat away at the solidified tape. You will need to repeat this for some  time before the mount will easily pull off. To clean the old dash additional soaking with mineral spirits is the best method we have used until clean. To remount in new vehicle you will need a new piece of tape and primer. These are available on our website under accessories.

  1. I have too many weapons to choose just one.

Note take:

We understand and many of us also carry more than one weapon in our vehicle. The main point is to have one At The Ready at all times. If you have one that you carry more than others choose that one. If you have one that you are most comfortable with in a stressful situation, choose that one. It does not matter to us which one you choose. With your safety in mind try to think of one that dominates the others.

  1. How do I charge my weapon with the mount?

Answer:

We recommend after installation that you remove the magazine, double and tripple check there is no ammunition in the barrel and practice charging the weapon a few times and just placing it in and out of the mount. The earth magnets allow you to line up the end of your barrel on the slide retainer and just 45 your weapon into place. When your weapon is properly placed in the mount in a neutral position you will push down and pull out to charge it. This should be practiced repeatedly so in a stressful situation your hand will naturally fall onto your weapon.

  1. What if I carry my weapon with one in the chamber?

Answer:

If you already carry with one in the chamber then you simply draw your weapon. In the event of a stressful situation and you happen to charge your weapon again, due to the safety of having the ejection port clear on our mount the ammunition will eject and a new round with be chambered.

  1. What about car accidents?

Answer:

Every car accident will be different, and we do not guarantee that the mount will hold your weapon in the event of an accident. In many cases you may need to locate your weapon most likely on the floor after an accident.
